Here at BCMaterials we would like to give our warmest welcome to Son Singh and Shehla Gul, post-doctoral and pre-doctoral researchers who joined our center recently.

Dr. Singh will work in the Advanced Functional Materials and Surfaces research line, more specifically on the interlayer of perovskite solar cells.

Son Singh obtained his dual degree (B.Tech-M.Tech) in Nanotechnology from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India, in 2013. In 2020, he completed his Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering at Kookmin University, Seoul, South Korea. His doctoral research centered on the fabrication and characterization of perovskite-based photodetectors on flexible substrates, with applications in health monitoring devices such as pulse oximeters.

Following his Ph.D., he pursued postdoctoral research at the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation (IACF) at Kookmin University, where his work focused on advancing perovskite solar cell technology for wearable applications. During this time, he designed and developed a self-powered smart system by integrating a perovskite solar mini-module into wearable devices.

On the other hand, Shehla Gul joined the Computational Materials Science research line as a pre-doctoral researcher to help developing novel colloidal Quantum Dots (QDs) for high performance radiation detectors. After granting her Degree in Chemistry from the University of Punjab (Pakistan) she did her master’s in organic chemistry from University of Agriculture Faisalabad with a work focused on a purely theoretical and computational basus. She uses computational approach to design molecules based on our organic chemistry knowledge and determine their physical and electronic properties.
